This section is a front end to the 'Fix My Street' app which allows anyone in the UK to report a problem. The information is then automatically forwarded to the relevant council on your behalf. The following is taken from their website :

How to report a problem

  1. Enter a nearby UK postcode, or street name and area
  2. Locate the problem on a map of the area
  3. Enter details of the problem
  4. We send it to the council on your behalf

No. That section allows you to use the 'Fix My Street' website to pass on information to the relevant council. It is up to the council to respond. However it is a very straightforward way of letting your local council know of the exact nature and location of problems and should allow them to address it quickly. If the worst comes to the worst and the council do not address the problem, they will not be able to deny knowing about it.

The blogging facility is not intended for every user, although there is a 'mini-blog' feature in each user's profile area.

If you would like your own blog then please use the contact form to get in touch, saying why you would like a blog and what you would be writing about.

We would like to approve every blog application, but reserve the right to refuse permission without giving reasons.

The Mid-Cheshire Q and A feature allows users to both submit questions to be answered and answer questions by other users. Users can vote for the best answer.

The 'Where in the World' section has a number of challenges in which you see a part of the world in Google Streetview and you have to guess whereabouts the view was taken by indicating on a map. the closer you are, the more points you score. Most of th map areas are local but there are also maps from further afield.

First you need to choose the map that you want to play. You will be told the area that the map covers and the number of rounds in each challenge.

A scene from Gogle Streetview will appear, with a small location map at the bottom left. It is recommended to click the full screen button for a better experience. You can drag the image around to give a 360 degree view. You need to guess as closely as possible the place that the image was taken from, then indicate this on the location map. The location map will automatically increase in size if you hover over it. It has the usual zoom controls and can be panned by dragging the mouse. Click on the location map to place your indicator. You can change your decision by clicking somewhere else on the map.

When you are happy with your decision click the 'MAKE GUESS' button. You will then be told how well you did with that round and shown the actual position the image was taken from. If there are more rounds to go with your chosen map you will be taken to the next image. At the end of the challenge you will get your final score.

The high-scores are saved. You will need to log in before playing if you want your name to be recorded along with your score.

Tips for playing :

Look for clues in the picture, such as street signs or names of buildings

Look at the background to see if there are any clues such as buildings or natural features.
